seb profileI write poetry and essays and have worked as a journalist, editor and university instructor. During almost a decade in Taiwan and Hong Kong, I wrote extensively about travel and art and today I’m still interested both in place and culture, though I now focus on the USA. I’m currently working on persona poetry and a series of essays, both of which draw from research into the 19th century and explore that era’s enduring impacts on American life today.

I am a graduate of the Asia-focused MFA in creative nonfiction from City University of Hong Kong and hold an MFA in poetry from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
